2008 Great Northwest Open April 26-27 Whistler's Bend DGC Roseburg, OR.

The 2008 Great Northwest Open returns to Whistler's Bend disc golf course as the Oregon Series opener. Surrounded on three sides by the Umpqua River, Whistler's Bend is a magical place that just happens to have one of the best disc golf courses in the Northwest. Standing on tee 14 (Top of the world) preparing to throw 536ft down hill with a road to clear and a road behind the basket. The last thing you are thinking about is your throw. Gazing down at the valley below reminds you how lucky you are to have found disc golf, and to be in this wonderful place on earth.

Group camping is available, and is offered on a first come first serve basis (if you want a choice spot, you better arrive on Friday early). For those who have not camped at Whistler's bend before, the group camping, aside from being one of the most fun group camps of the season, has running water and drop toilets. Just up the road there are showers and flush toilets. Standard camp sites are also available on the south side of the park if you want a quieter night.

The Great Northwest Open will be held on the original 18-hole course. We will be running A & B flights to give us a capacity of 144 players; if you want to play, get your registration in ASAP.
